We are currently seeking a candidate to fill the role of an Inventory Control Manager.
Job description:
General Description: This position is responsible for managing and maintaining inventory in a central warehouse, as well as in remote parts depots.
Duties
Manage the warehouse including shipping, receiving, put-away, cross-dock, issuing
Ensure timely and accurate inventory transactions including receipts, issues, transfers, adjustments, and shipments
Ensure proper identification and routing of materials, including any special handling requirements
Expedite shortages as needed
Oversee local material movements to/from locations using company vehicles and shipping companies
Oversee outbound movements to internal and external customers including: arrange transportation, package materials, and prepare documentation for shipment
Oversee all storage areas including the warehouses, inbound items, remote storage depots, and staging areas
Conduct inventory cycle counts and physical counts; participate in audits as needed
Administer the inventory control function through procedural controls, documentation, and training
Analyze inventory usage, turnover, excess/obsolete, scrap, and shrinkage
Investigate inventory discrepancies and transaction history to determine root cause of variances
Interact daily with Engineering, Assembly, Pharmacy, Accounts Payable, and Service
Monitor safe operation of material handling, transportation, and storage equipment such as forklifts, trucks, trailers, racks
Maintain computer system master data to enable the warehouse function
Track all material movements, ensure timely communication and follow-up.
Coordinate with Quality to move materials in and out of inspection
Coordinate with Accounts Payable to ensure proper payment of vendors based on receipts
Coordinate with billing and Accounts Receivable to ensure proper billing of customers based on shipments
Audit freight bills, compare to freight-in and freight-out accounts
Instill an "internal service organization" philosophy.
Lead new initiatives such as bar code, GPS tracking, floor stock, consignment, etc.
Challenge current work processes for improvement
Supervise staff of warehousemen
Oversee hiring and training
Perform special assignments as requested by senior management
Oversee departmental cost center and budget
