Job Responsibilities:
Proactively sell to achieve sales and revenue goals for electronic products for a specific territory in the K-12 market.
Identify sales opportunities and close independently or with shared responsibility with partnered Field Sales Representative(s). * Assume revenue responsibility for new business and renewals in independent territory and with the field partner(s) for shared accounts.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Sell electronic products to achieve revenue targets.
Develop strategy to independently manage all business, new and renewals, for a specific geographic territory.
Develop strategy to manage all business, new and renewals, for specific shared accounts with partnered field representatives.
Provide forecast data for short and long range sales opportunities.
Maintain a sales call rate of at least 20 contacts per day.
Develop and maintain a positive business relationship with management, field partners, and related SIRS/PQ department staff.
Occasionally travel to customer accounts and/or trade conferences when requested.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Preferred: Master's Degree or equivalent experience
Experience
Required: 2 years sales experience
Preferred: 4 years sales experience. Experience in the library market.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities/Mental Requirements
Required:
Requires negotiation and persuasion skills.
Proficient with computer, fax, copier, calculator and telephone.
Ability and willingness to travel.
Self motivated.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Organizational skills.
Ability to analyze and make decisions under stressful conditions.
Ability to work independently and in partnerships.
Preferred:
Knowledge of SIRS/ProQuest products and services.
Knowledge of electronic information dissemination.
Understanding of the library market.
Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
