In-Charge/Senior Accountant - Small Business Advisory Group

Coordinate small business engagements ensuring delivery is consistent with firm and client expectations of best practices.

Engagements consist mainly of financial statement reviews and compilations, monthly bookkeeping, and corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns. The qualified candidate must be able to perform these tasks independently with minimal supervision.

This position is responsible for all fieldwork and ongoing interaction with client personnel.
REQUIREMENTS
- Complete interim or year-end bookkeeping from documentation supplied by client, including preparation of bank reconciliation.
- Able to analyze and make needed adjustments to client's trial balance.
- Complete field work and prepare compiled or reviewed financial statements.
- Preparation of corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns.
- Begin to develop a command of GAAP, OCBOA, unique or specialized accounting principles, and financial statement presentations.
- Responsible for assisting in planning and budget control of engagement.
- Use appropriate resources and technology throughout the firm and demonstrate a commitment to acquiring new capabilities.
- Deliver projects/engagements on time, within budget and to client's satisfaction.
- Relied upon to resolve all open items/issues encountered on assigned engagements.
- Supervise staff and provide honest, objective, and constructive feedback in timely manner.
- Begin to acquire the skills necessary to develop quality client relationships and loyalty.
- Able to communicate with client either by phone or at the client's place of business.
- Ability to communicate with partners, managers, staff, and clients on an ongoing basis.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Exercise sound judgment regarding when to refer issues to supervisors.
- Ability to express verbal and written ideas clearly, convincingly, and concisely.

Qualifications

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in public practice firm.
- Bachelor’s degree with an accounting major, or the equivalent credit in accounting courses to enable the employee to sit for the uniform CPA exam, if not an accounting major.
- Knowledge of accounting software - Quickbooks a plus.
- Strong organizational skills.
