ACCOUNTING PRODUCTS AND REPORTING TECHNOLOGY ANALYSTLarge Atlanta Financial Services firm seeks Sr. Financial Reporting Accountant to join growing and fast paced organization.
Incumbent will provide central role in data warehouse reporting process oversight and coordination, make recommendations for enhancements, control deficiency evaluation, and manage change control.
Incumbent will also monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of the data warehouse; represent the Accounting Services department with minimal supervision in data warehouse and other reporting-related project activities pertaining to automation of reporting and information distribution; and serve as an interface point between the Accounting Services department reporting production and the Information Technology division as well as other areas within the Bank.
Additional responsibilities include:Oversees and coordinates the data warehouse reporting process to include data integrity validation and change control and to ensure that reports are timely and functional.
Understands and provides oversight of all data warehouse reporting requirements and inter-relationships of requirements for various entities, including understanding of homonyms and synonyms found between the SEC 10-Q, SEC 10-K, Federal Housing Finance Board call reports, internal Board of Directors reports, Office of Finance templates, etc.
Manages projects pertaining to automation of reporting and information distribution.Provides expertise and quality control review of data warehouse computed measures such as profitability ratios and core economic income ratios.
Monitors the change control process to ensure there is proper documentation of changed requirements and testing results, to include change control over modifications to reporting requirements.
Maintains plans for the effects and quality control surrounding underlying feeder system conversions as well as anticipated feeder system modifications (structural changes). Documents results of planned tests.
Performs and documents balancing-related controls to ensure data is loaded and validated properly.
Establishes control points in system and works with other Accounting Services staff to determine data requirement needs.Understands interfaces and translates them into user needs.
Makes recommendations and maintains policies and procedures regarding departmental usage of the data warehouse as well as bank-wide usage and necessary controls over data.
Monitors the data warehouse and related reporting activity for control deficiencies or gaps.
Performs root cause analysis and tracks data, processing, and reporting control issues in order to make recommendations for process improvements.
Serves as one of the project contributors (within a team of project contributors) and departmental interfaces for data governance and related project issues.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates will possess:Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of five years’ experience with strong automated systems experience, a fundamental understanding of accounting and financial reporting, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.Strong systems orientation and technical foundation.Strong understanding and related experience with internal controls and process improvement. .
Must have the ability to work on multiple, unrelated areas simultaneously under limited supervision.Project management skills, such as strong team building skills, and excellent problem solving skills.
