Human Resources Manager

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER A major high-volume distribution company of consumer products is seeking a human resources professional to join one of its divisions as a Human Resources Manager. In this capacity, you would be reporting directly to the General Manager and would be responsible for payroll, coordinating employee benefits, Worker’s Compensation and safety, state unemployment and employee relations. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Payroll: •Preparation and distribution of bi-weekly payroll. •Maintenance of personnel records and status changes •Creating/maintaining all reports required for payroll •Tracking of vacation, sick time, holidays taken 2. Coordination of employee benefits: •Administer benefits for employees – medical, dental, vision and 401K. •Distribute all information from corporate to employees as needed, posting information as required by corporate and by law. •Benefit orientation for new hires/newly eligible employees. •Facilitate enrollment for AFLAC, 401K, and other benefits. •Track FMLA and disability leaves •Short term/Long term disability processing and follow through. 3. Worker’s Compensation and Safety: •Report accidents •Work with SFO Risk Department •Work with Worker’s Comp Administrator •Follow up and monitor return to work status •Coordinate benefits •Safety committee organization, monitoring, and monthly reporting 4. State Unemployment: •Respond to state inquiries and claims •Prepare for hearings and co-ordinate with managers involved •Work with managers to avoid unnecessary claims •Labor Law Awareness •Communicate with managers to address issues that arise and provide access to information regarding labor laws. 5.Work with department managers to determine hiring needs, place ads as necessary, screen employment applications, log pending drug screen results for new hires, and maintain interviewing records. 6. HR& Employee Relations •Investigate and resolve hotline complaints •Assisting supervisors/managers in identifying and resolving employee relations issues •Interpreting company policies and procedures •Working with management to meet staffing requirements of the division •Assist in developing and delivering presentations as needed •Assist in termination process of employees. 7.Any other duties required for human resources or requested by management
REQUIREMENTS
To qualify, candidate must posses: •BS/BA degree and 3-5 years related human resources experience in a supervisory/management role. •Working knowledge of federal and state labor laws and payroll is also required. •Strong organizational, communication, and supervisory skills are necessary •Must have the ability to work with all levels of employees. •Strong computer skills to include Word and Excel are needed Please submit cover letter, resume, and salary history to: [Click here for email]
