Primary Work Responsibilities
Assist other Actuaries and Consultants in:
A. Health care budget rate setting for self-insured plans, including gathering claims data
B. Analyze and benchmark plan designs
C. Employee contribution rate development, with direction
D. Interaction with HRO regarding rates and contributions
E. Preparing savings/cost projections and financial modeling of plan design alternatives
F. Analyzing network discounts and evaluating network managers.
G. Analysis of insured plan renewals for appropriateness and carrier bid financial analysis
H. Supporting RFM with FAS 106/112 claim cost development assignments
I. IBNP reserve development
J. Health and welfare experience monitoring and reporting, using both standardized EMR tool and ad hoc analyses
K. Acting as a technical/methodology expert for HHVI/reviewing rates and preliminary results
L. Seek peer review to ensure high quality client deliverables
M. Value retiree plans for the purpose of complying with Medicare Part D regulations, including calculating Medicare Part D Subsidy and Actuarial Attestation
REQUIREMENTS
 Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics, or a related field
 03 years actuarial work experience
 Has passed or has credit for 1-4 actuarial exams (and associated VEE)
