Global Security Investigator

This position reports to the Global Security Manager of Investigations and primarily focuses on matters within North America. Cases are assigned by the Manager of Investigations; the Investigator operates independently and with minimal supervision. Working with various levels of management, with multiple internal departments, and under high levels of time pressure can be expected. The position is challenging, exciting, and offers unlimited variety for the right candidate.Global Security Investigators are responsible for conducting many types of investigations, including:
Employee, contractor, and vendor misconduct (including alleged criminal activity)
Prescription Drug Marketing Act infractions
External frauds and risks
Workplace safety concerns
Due diligence researchEach individual investigation may require a variety of investigative services, including:
Evidence identification and collection
Evidence preservation
Forensic accounting
Victim, witness, and subject interviews
Litigation support
Law enforcement and regulatory agency support
Criminal prosecution and civil complaints
Testimony in criminal trials, civil complaints, and administrative hearingsThe Investigator will be responsible for:
Planning
Evidence Collection & Analysis
Subject Interviews
Reporting
Documentation & Quality ControlIn addition to these investigative responsibilities, the Investigator is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships within the Company and with key support personnel outside the organization. The Investigator may be called upon to provide support for other Global Security functions, such as event security, and may be called upon to consult with internal business units. The Investigator will become involved in training personnel inside the Global Security Department and elsewhere in the organization. Travel expectations are minimal, but travel may be required on short notice, sometimes only hours.Qualifications
A minimum of two years of investigative experience is required, three to five years experience is preferred. A thorough understanding of the Microsoft suite of office products is required, particularly Word and Excel.Investigators should have an understanding of:
Investigative theories, practices, and techniques
Victim, witness, and subject interview strategies and techniques
Applicable laws, rules, and regulationsInvestigators should be proficient at:
Applying knowledge to investigative practices
Exercising tact, initiative, resourcefulness, and judgment throughout the investigative process
Obtaining information from people
Analyzing evidence
Deductive reasoning
Communicating clear, concise, and accurate summaries orally and in writing
Offering constructive recommendationsIn addition to investigative skills, the ideal candidate will possess a basic understanding of physical security concepts, personal safety, threat response, and crisis management. Fluency in Spanish is desirable.Bachelor's degree, from an accredited four-year university, related to business, security or a field involving investigations
