Global Product Manager, Instrumentation

Dako is seeking a highly motivated individual in the exciting product area of Instrumentation. Position will be based in Carpinteria, CA and this product area focuses on the marketing of anatomic pathology cancer diagnostic instrumentation. Seeking a candidate with previous sales and marketing experience in the Clinical Diagnostics field. The successful candidate will have three main areas of responsibility for their selected product(s). These include product development, product commercialization, and product sales channel support. Product development responsibilities may include working with product development teams on creation of globally viable products or line extensions. The individual will oversee focus group activities, identifying customer needs and marketing evaluations. Product commercialization responsibilities may include development, execution and launch of commercial activities. Individual will be responsible for global monitoring of competitor activities, changing market dynamics, market share and profitability. The product sales channel support will be to train global sales and technical support teams. The product manager will support field sales staff, create promotional materials, and develop short and long term product positioning and strategy. Position requires: B.S. in Science, MBA is a plus, instrumentation product management and capital sales experience preferred, 3-5 years promotional marketing and diagnostic instrument sales/marketing experience minimum, understanding of instrumentation and reagent systems life cycle, negotiation and project management skills, strong communication and presentation skills.
