General Ledger Staff Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY: Interviews begin immediately; position is located in American Fork, Utah. Position offers salary plus fantastic benefits! This person performs closing entries for the Company including account reconciliation, journal entry preparation and entry, tax and royalty calculations, and general closing of National Information Services management (NIS) books. Supports the NIS management team and provides financial analysis, metrics, and financial know-how. •Oversee and maintain treasury accounts with bank
•Oversee and submit all ACH and EFT Batches to bank
•Oversee and direct Check 21 In House Check processing
•Reconcile all Cash Accounts with bank monthly
•Prepare all Sales Use Tax for State of Utah quarterly
•Prepare Property Tax Return for State of Utah yearly
•Prepare Unclaimed Property Return for State of Utah yearly
•Responsible for setup and testing of Key Controls for Sarbanes Oxley
oMain area of focus Treasury (Cash) and CAPX related Items
oTesting done quarterly
•Prepare all NIS accruals based on factual, verifiable data
oAll Balance Sheet reconciliations
oTax and Royalty calculations/posting
oKey account analysis
oClosing of NIS books
•Review vendor invoices and ensure proper coding of expenses
•Function as Business Unit Finance support for NIS management; provide financial analysis, metrics, budget and forecast support, among others; functions as financial liaison with NIS
•Assists Accounting Manager with reconciling AND analyzing key accounts; fully understanding the issues, processes and flow of the key account (Fixed Assets/Cash)
•Assists Accounting Manager with other Close related processes
•Establish policies and procedures with NIS managers regarding financial issues and document flow process
•Create and maintain good rapport with NIS and other Business Unit mangers
•Other tasks, reconciliations, and responsibilities as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•Associates degree in Finance or Accounting; and/or 1 – 2 years experience in related field
•Good understanding of financial process
•Previous experience with accounting software is required
•Experience with Great Plains Accounting is especially helpful
•Experience in claims processing helpful
•Excel spreadsheet knowledge and skill
•Basic Word skills
•Experience with Consolidated Cash Pool reconciliations
