General Ledger Accounting Manager

Responsible for maintaining the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of the company's accounting records. These include the General Ledger and related sub-systems. With the support of senior management this position is the organizational focal point of assuring adherence to the company's transactional policies and procedures. This position interacts with personnel within the company, the company's outside auditors, vendors and customers. Must be able to meet company deadlines while maintaining a high-level of integrity with their work. Should be able to identify problems, interact with operational personnel and formulate alternative solutions to these problems. Exercises independent judgment in carrying out duties.
REQUIREMENTS
4 year accounting degree.
3 to 5 years experience with recent experience in General Accounting Management or Senior GA Support.
Strong Oracle General Ledger Systems experience preferred.
Must be a Self-starter with a desire to promote and implement continuous improvement endeavors.
Must be able to work in a dynamic and changing environment and support a rapidly growing start-up company.
Communication skills are an important asset. Must be able to communicate accounting matters with all levels in the organization and with outside parties including vendors, customers and auditors.
Must be sensitive to quality and aspire to create and maintain an error-free database of accounting data.
Proficiency in MS OFfice applications, especially Excel.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
Organized and detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written skills.
