Gas Controller

Division: Marketing/MidstreamCategory: Midstream OperationsAccountable for monitoring and controlling gas and liquid flows and pressures through the company pipeline systems, which includes but is not limited to the monitoring and resolution of issues relating to gas glow, pressure, storage and other related activities.
Job Description:
Communicate with internal and external customers to maintain safe and efficient pipeline systems.
Work a rotating 12 hour day/night; including weekends and holidays shift schedule. Must be flexible and willing to work extra shifts to cover vacation / sick leave for other team members.
Monitor, control and re-route gas flow via SCADA systems to maintain safe operations
Track and evaluate pipeline maintenance schedules for impact on gas flow; notify internal customers to minimize down time and optimize deliveries.
Recognize, analyze, resolve problems and take corrective action to handle emergency and non-emergency situations.
Maintain event logs and downtime reports
Control flow rates to minimize and reduce line imbalances
Update system daily reports and imbalance schedules
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of pipeline flow dynamics with the understanding and ability to make physical changes to flow rates and pressures in response to field operations
Willingness to assist and train other team members in job functions as needed
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
High school diploma or equivalent
Three years gas control experience or equivalent field operations experience controlling physical flows on natural gas pipelines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.
