Description: Ernst & Young’s Financial Services Advisory (FSA) unit is a specialty advisory practice that provides integrated risk management, regulatory and business performance services to financial institutions and other capital markets participants. FSA includes individuals who are industry and financial product specialists as well as accounting, regulatory, and technology professionals. Responsibilities: Finance and Control seniors are integral team members to our broad based risk, regulatory and business improvement engagements. Seniors are responsible for working at client sites to deliver solutions based upon individual project requirements. The client engagements may include, but not limited to, assisting with the implementation and sustainability of Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 programs, investigating and analyzing reconciliation processes and performing functional analysis of user requirements within the finance and operation functions around the implementation of new regulatory or business requirements.Ernst & Young LLP, an equal opportunity employer, values the diversity of our work force and the knowledge of our people.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Bachelor or Masters degree in Accounting or Finance is required A minimum of three years of experience working within a public accounting firm, internal audit group or controllers function Familiarity with accounting and financial (management and external) reporting concepts prevalent in mutual funds, banking, securities, insurance, and investment management activities Working knowledge of industry related accounting standards (FASB 133, Fin 46, etc) Familiarity with accounting for financial instruments and financial consolidation, reporting and analysis Experience in identifying and implementing controls over financial reporting and other operational activity Analytical skills, specifically, the ability to assess and decompose financial services industry processes utilizing a risk and control focus; Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client presentations Ability to work independently and within team structures Willingness to travel up to 70%
