Description: Ernst & Young’s Financial Services Advisory (FSA) unit is a specialty advisory practice that provides integrated market, credit and operational risk management as well as regulatory, process improvement, and treasury advisory services to financial institutions and other capital markets participants. FSA includes individuals who are industry, client and product specialists as well as quantitative, regulatory, project management and technology professionals. All these professionals work together to coordinate the delivery of value-added risk management services to a variety of clients. These include commercial banks, investment banks, broker-dealers, asset managers, insurance companies and energy trading companies. Responsibilities: As an operational risk professional, you will advise clients on how to implement operational risk management (ORM) processes that will help identify, assess, manage, and measure the risk exposure on an enterprise wide basis. The primary responsibilities include: Assist clients to implement and deploy an operational risk strategy, which may include services such as: operational risk governance/ framework development, risk and control self assessments, key risk indicator processes and loss event database methodology and processes. Help clients to develop and define operational risk business requirements and implement operational risk business processes and/ or technology solutions Assess and evaluate a client’s internal control environment and develop creative and practical solutions to address issues identified and provide value added services to the client Ability to facilitate client workshops focused on risks and controls Ability to lead, execute and manage all aspects of advisory projects and effectively interact as a member of a project team Implement creative and practical solutions to assist the clients in performing their business objectives Summarize and communicate results and recommendations based upon analyses performed in a concise and meaningful way for Client Management Active involvement in providing thought leadership related to operational risk management through participation at industry seminars, creation of articles for publication, developing and delivering professional training programs, project methodology development/ enhancementErnst & Young LLP, an equal opportunity employer, values the diversity of our work force and the knowledge of our people.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Requirements: To deliver these services, we are looking for individuals with 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in a number of the following areas:
Industry Skills Capital markets, Banking, Asset Management and Insurance industry processes and products Front office, finance, middle office and back office processes and systems within financial services organizations (i.e., commercial banks, investment banks, broker-dealers, asset management, insurance) Project management or implementation of ORM framework addressing Basel II for banking organizations and/or CSE for securities firms Strong working knowledge of operational risk management discipline and related concepts (direct experience is a plus)
