Ernst & Young's Financial Services Advisory (FSA) unit is a specialty advisory practice that provides integrated market, credit and operational risk management; operations improvement, business integration, and strategic cost management; and regulatory and treasury advisory services to financial institutions and other capital markets participants. FSA includes individuals who have industry, client and product knowledge as well as quantitative, regulatory, project management and technology professionals. Our teams work together to coordinate the delivery of risk management, regulatory and business performance services to a variety of clients, including commercial banks, investment banks, broker-dealers, asset managers, insurance and energy trading companies, and other organizations.We currently have a career opportunity for an Operational Risk Senior Manager - Insurance.Responsibilities
Focus on serving insurance clients with operational risk issues. REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: To qualify, candidates must have: a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related business discipline
a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience at an insurance company, department of insurance or professional services firm serving financial services clients
experience in market, credit or operational risk management, including reviews addressing issues such as suitability, agent appointment, compliance with laws and regulations, and agency reviews
experience with credit risk management infrastructure
familiarity with quantitative methods and tools supporting credit risk measurement
economic capital and risk-adjusted performance measurement
familiarity with back-office processing (e.g., premium or claims processing)
process re-engineering, team-building and project management experience
a proven track record of working with insurance regulators
strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing, client proposals, service brochures and client interaction
significant project management experience, including process analyses and design
ability and comfort level researching client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies Ideal candidates will also possess an MBA/master's degree with a concentration in accounting, finance, or mathematics; an active CPA license; or a Six Sigma green or black belt. An NASD Series 6 or 7 license is preferred but not a requirement.Successful candidates must also have the ability to travel 20%-30%.
