Full Job Title: Financial Policy and Reporting Specialist 4 Skills Management Title Financial AccountingJob Level: EXEMPTBusiness Component: Integrated Defense Systems (IDS)Job Description: As a member of the IDS Consolidation and Financial Reporting team, individual will be responsible for reviewing, creating, and advising on accounting and financial reporting processes and procedures in light of accounting principles generally accepted in the United States. IDS resident participating in activities associated with accounting research and policy development in a highly technical and complex environment. Focus will be placed on research and interpreting certain proposed accounting rule changes by regulatory bodies (i.e. SEC, FASB, EITF). Serves as a liason among internal and external customers including external auditors, Corporate counterparts, and executive management. In addition to special projects, individual will assist as needed and advise as appropriate in procedures and tasks in order to achieve quarterly financial statement close. Industry and technical knowledge will be used in drafting and reviewing sections of the Company's SEC filings. Competencies Motivated, able to work independently, and have a clear understanding of financial reporting requirements that include working knowledge of GAAP and SEC requirements (includes maintenance of GAAP knowledge as promulgated by the FASB and IASB). Requires the ability to articulate and communicate clearly and effectively complex accounting matters to company management and executives.
