The Financial Management Associate Supervisor is responsible for assisting in recruitment, direct oversight, supervision, mentorship, development, and assistance in the evaluation of Financial Management Associates (FMAs) and Financial Assistants (FAs). This individual assists FMAs with issues related to the daily management of an assigned book of business or other complex requests from client service personnel; is able to handle a ""volume of business"" (either having responsibility for an industry or functional group or a location book of business); serves as a central point for finance in a small location; communicates best practices and solutions to issues that may arise in the FMA/FA organization; assists the FMA Manager in allocating workload among FMAs and FAs, working with other locations to share resources as needed; and assumes the role of FMA Manager as required.Responsibilities
Oversee the daily accounting functions that take place within the organization.Be directly responsible for the supervision of FMAs/FAs within a Business Unit, department. sub-department, industry, location or other operating unit of the firm.Prioritize tasks to accomplish firm goals and objectives.Provide leadership and expertise to an assigned group of FMAs/FAs.Assist the FMA Manager with client service personnel in resolving problems or issues.Produce ad hoc reports to help monitor key performance measures for the practice.Provide technical training and the soft skills required to succeed as an FMA or FA.Assist in the education of client serving individuals.Create and implement best practices for process improvement for both the FMA/FA group and the client serving individuals.Communicate FMA/FA issues to the FMA Manager, Assistant Area Director of Finance or Area Director of Finance.May handle a book of business.Ernst & Young LLP, an equal opportunity employer, values the diversity of our work force and the knowledge of our people.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: The incumbent of this position must have:Education:
a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or equivalent experience preferred
Experience:
4+ years of experience in a professional atmosphere in a finance/business capacity financial management/financial assistant experience beneficial
Skills:
proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer and Lotus Notes strong conflict resolution, time management, and organizational skills the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously the ability to gain the respect of both the finance community and client serving teams strong presentation, teaching, analytical and problem solving skills the ability to work with individuals at all levels within the organization
