Financial Derivatives Software Consultant

SS&C Technologies, Inc., the worldwide financial services software innovator, currently has a derivatives consultant opening in our Windsor, Connecticut corporate headquarters location. Utilizing your derivatives, accounting and Windows-based applications background, you will work with SS&C clients and potential clients by providing consulting and support of SS&C's financial services software products. Responsibilities include:

* Monitoring individual client activity
* Documenting and troubleshooting the client's software issues
* Resolving problems and communicating resolutions to the client and all appropriate internal departments
* Test and document derivatives system changes
* Work with new clients to implement derivatives system

As the primary contact to our clients, you will respond to problems or questions on technical accounting or system navigation by researching, troubleshooting, problem solving and performing portfolio file corrections, and delivering files back to the customer, when appropriate. Additionally, you will be responsible for the implementations and training new clients.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:

* Minimum of 3+ years of derivatives operations experience including a working knowledge of swaps, credit default swaps, fx forwards, futures, options, and other derivatives, and the ability to apply this knowledge to the proper accounting principals

* Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience in the same disciplines)

* Working knowledge of financial reporting and general ledger accounting

* Technical expertise to include an intermediate level Excel, an understanding of MS Word and Windows-based applications (Windows 2000, Windows XP and/or SQL strongly preferred), a working knowledge of internet technologies, and a fundamental knowledge of computer operating systems.

* Exceptional communication skills required in both oral and written form for effective client interaction

* Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills and a proven ability to multi-task

* Must be able to work effectively in a team environment

* A predisposition to troubleshooting, analysis and problem-solving

* Professional attitude, presentation and demeanor

* Willingness and ability to travel

* A strong desire to work closely with clients and software product-related problem resolution and business analysis

Experience in using Bloomberg a plus.
