Financial Assistant I

POSITION SUMMARY:The Finance Department of the Arizona Supreme Court's Administrative Office of the Courts seeks a full-time Financial Assistant to provide administrative and customer service support to the Financial Officer, Fund Managers, and other departmental staff. This is an excellent ground floor opportunity for the right person to get involved with the courts in a financial role and learn about court financial transactions and work with vendors and court staff. The work involves maintaining vendor information; distributing mail, payables, checks, and bi-weekly payroll; data entry; filing, answering phones, and other clerical and administrative support as needed. If you are motivated to work at your own pace and can meet daily deadlines and excel under minimal supervision, we encourage you to apply.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:The successful candidate possesses a HS diploma or equivalent and 2 years office experience in a financial or accounting work environment. Excellent organizational and computer skills, the ability to operate standard office equipment, and the ability to communicate with vendors and staff in a professional manner are also required skills.
SELECTION PROCESS:Some positions may take 4-6 weeks to fill. Only applicants whose education, training and experience most closely meet the needs of the position may be invited to interview. The Selection Process may include basic computer tests such as Excel, 10-key, and math (testing) and first and/or second round panel interviews. This position is not covered by the State Merit System. Finalists must undergo a background check. Requests for a special accommodation to participate in the interview process should be made at the time you are contacted to schedule an interview. This regular, full-time non-exempt level position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program. This position is open for internal and external recruitment.
