Financial Analyst - Sales Finance

The down-to-earth, pragmatic environment is focused on results, and employees are passionate about making a difference.Perform all assigned functions in Sales Finance pertaining to trade spend analysis, reporting customer sales metrics, managing deduction balances, analysis of team selling expense as well as ad hoc analysis as required. This position supports the Director Finance - Sales Finance - Channels and serves as primary analysis function supporting the Channels Sales Team.Analyze monthly variances between actual results, current estimate, plan, and prior year. Summarize variances and discuss with Manager/Director, Sales Finance.
Work with Sales Finance, Sales Team and Customer Service to clear deductions, research proof of performance, track invalids/refuse to repay and report/analyze deduction balances and aging.
Provide management with potential opportunities and risks to selling expense through analysis of actual performance trends.
Perform post promotional analysis of trade spending events by analyzing the ROMI and incremental lift associated with promotion.
Assist in the preparation/evaluation of monthly and quarterly Sales Metrics including brand and customer volume, IRI performance, deduction balances, headcount, selling expense, distribution gains/losses and retail availability.
Assist in preparation of plan models for selling expense. Responsible for coordinating input into the financial planning system and work with Sales Finance and Sales Team to validate accuracy and reasonableness of data.
Consolidate and prepare Financial estimates for selling expense working with Sales Finance and Sales Team
Provide analysis on customer cost to serve and customer profitability
Assist in analysis/preparation of customer trade plan
Assist in developing management reports through functional knowledge of the following systems: Business Warehouse, SAP R/3 and Trade Promotion Management (TPM).
Prepare ad-hoc reports and potential assignment to special studies/teams to assist management in evaluating key opportunities for the company.Principal Challenges/Complexity
The position requires a fundamental understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and an understanding of all internal financial and operating systems and process requirements.Knowledge, Training, and Experience
Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field with minimum of 2 years work experience in financial analysis, preferably in consumer packaged goods industry.
Fundamental understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
Ability to analyze and assimilate relevant data into key financial recommendations.
Solid interpersonal, organizational and financial skills
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Prefer proficiency in Business Warehouse and SAP R/3
