Portfolio Consultant/Financial Analyst summary:

Our client, a large well-known Fortune 500 Company, is currently seeking to hire a Portfolio Consultant/Financial Analyst. This position is located in the Stamford, CT area. We are looking for qualified candidates for short-term projects, long term consulting and contract to hire opportunities!

Portfolio Consultant/Financial Analyst is responsible for:
Building and running Excel databases & models and perform analytics as necessary to meet portfolio reporting objectives.
Databases & models: Own & further develop 1) expanded Risk Exposure Monitoring (REM) portfolio database, coordinating with all business segments and IT, ensuring data accuracy and completeness; transition to business objects, relational database integrated with other business systems 2) front-end analytic model for reporting & graphics.
Analytics & reporting: Includes performance of quarterly portfolio risk assessment (policy 6.0), business operating rules compliance, and corporate reporting. Additional in-depth analysis includes collateral coverage and loan-to-value (LTV).
Supporting project to build a comprehensive portfolio management system, leveraging existing databases, to enable and perform current and new portfolio analytics, such as asset / customer profitability. Requires cross-functional work to create business specifications, and teamwork with IT and / or external software vendor for actual build.
REQUIREMENTS
Essential Skills & Characteristics:
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills including financial modeling and forecasting, ability to interpret data to identify relationships for decision-making.
Understanding of best practices related to data integrity, data usage and management; ability to evaluate alternative approaches to portfolio management system build.
Ability to work under time constraints and to meet target dates.
Strong interpersonal and leadership qualities.
Strong business presentation skills (written and verbal).Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, engineering, or related field.
MBA preferred.
2+ years experience in financial services industry – finance or risk functions.
Superior skills in excel (including data management, models, graphs).
Strong skills in business objects, Microsoft suite; ability to quickly adapt to new software.
Experience in financial services, database management, expert excel skills (including VBA & CSV files).We offer:
