Financial Analyst-Medicare PFFS

Due to significant growth within our Medicare business line we are seeking the following position to join the Coventry family; Financial Analyst-Medicare/PFFS.

The incumbent coordinates the development of planning and financial forecasting information for Coventry Health Care's, Medicare Finance Department. Monitors on-going costs and utilization statistics and analyze trends and variances. Prepares reports for department managers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for broker commission payments and reporting for Medicare Part D and Private Fee for Service products.
Verifies and evaluates on going financial and utilization information, risk-share deals, specialty capitation deals, and interprets trends to identify variances and causes of variances. Coordinates reporting of analysis to internal managers or external users such as health care providers and employer groups.
Monitors on-going financial and utilization information, compares to budgeted or forecasted models, and reports to departmental managers. Reviews loss ratio reports by group, benefit plan, and line of business. Evaluates vendor specific data for inconsistencies in charges and/or utilization.
Performs special projects and other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Master’s degree or CPA preferred. Substantial (usually 2-3 years) directly related financial analyst experience. Significant knowledge of generally accepted financial analyst or accounting principles, applications and accounting systems. Thorough understanding of managed care industry requirements. Excellent communication, analytical and report writing skills required. Proficient with Microsoft Access and Excel. IDX or CDW experience preferred.
