Financial Analyst (Located in Japan)

The Financial Analyst leads the following processes: financial components of strategic planning, budget, forecast, marketing program compliance, and financial analysis.

In addition, the Financial Analyst maintains the supporting databases and financial analysis tools; provides comprehensive training to line of business and country personnel; and provides routine and ad-hoc reporting to management (e.g., business reviews, state-of-the-union commentary, and quarterly financial estimates).

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide routine and ad hoc financial support to country Managers.
• Prepares models and related analysis, then uses the results to partner with the business to make sound business decisions, including: marketing program analysis, new product launch analysis, expansion/acquisition analysis.
• Develop processes to monitor both financial and non-financial measures. Analyze measurements with a focus on causal factors and identifies actions where necessary to meet business objectives
• Support ad-hoc TM1 report requests from line of business and region financial personnel.
• Prepare tracking sheets and monitor line of business and country progress on the quarterly forecast and annual budget process.
• Ensure that financial reports and analyses are accurate, timely, and relevant.
• Present reports and analyses to senior management.
• Drive for continuous improvement in planning, analysis, and reporting processes.
• Leverage information technology to automate, streamline, and integrate planning, reporting, and analysis processes.
• Establish procedures and workflow processes
• Special projects as requested.
REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

• Bachelors-degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
• MBA preferred

EXPERIENCE:

• Five+ year’s prior experience in financial planning and analysis.
• General or cost accounting experience preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint user.
• Experience with OLAP databases, specific knowledge of TM1 a significant plus.
• Experience with large ERP systems, specific knowledge of SAP a significant plus.
