Financial Analyst I

PURPOSE:

Support the organization with maintenance and analysis of revenue and direct costs including: budgeting; planning; revenue assurance and analysis; reporting; and variance analysis. In support of the Accounting Manager, provide reporting and analysis for primary customer groups. Develop and maintain integrity of databases and tracking tools used for general ledger management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide general financial support, under the leadership of the Accounting Manager, to the assigned operation function(s). These on-going activities would include, but not be limited to:
oAssist with budgeting and forecasting.
oMonthly rate analysis for all revenue products (video, telephone, internet, etc) including identification and analysis of rate/volume variances and potential risks.
oCreation of rate/volume revenue dashboards.
oDesign and implement revenue assurance programs including audits.
oReport and present monthly to departments on revenue performance in relation to budget.
oAssist as needed with preparation of account reconciliations and monthly journal entries including the appropriate supporting documentation.
oOther job duties, as required.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
BA/BS in accounting or finance preferred or the equivalent in education plus experience.
2 - 5 years directly related work experience.
Strong proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software (i.e. MS Office suite).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Convergys ICOMS software preferred but not required.
Knowledge of the following financial concepts in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principals preferred but not required: (accruals, amortizations, internal control, and revenue/expense recognition)
Problem solving ability.
