Norcal Waste Systems, Inc. and its subsidiaries provide solid waste management services throughout California, including collection, transfer, disposal, landfill management, recycling, and other waste services. The position is currently available at Sunset Scavenger Company in San Francisco.

Financial Analyst 1
We are seeking a candidate to prepare and analyze financial models and special financial reports for financial planning and control.



Responsibilities:
Prepares and analyzes financial information to determine present and future financial performance.
Creates financial models.
Identifies trends and recommends improvements accordingly.
Establishes databases of pertinent information for use in analyzing future plans and forecasts.
Makes recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.
Researches and prepares reports on subjects such as rate of return, depreciation, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance, and impact of governmental requirements.
Assists organization’s controller in the development of the budget, planning, and other corporate financial requirements.
Performs ad hoc reports and analyses as requested by the Controller.
Other duties may be assigned.


REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, or equivalent knowledge of accounting principles.
Requires 2 to 4 years related experience.
Competence in use of spreadsheet, database, and graphics software.
Detailed knowledge of financial analysis theories and practices.
