Financial Analysis Consultant

Job Summary:

This position reports to the Director of Financial Planning & Reporting and is responsible for the financial analysis of a variety of strategic and tactical initiatives requiring cost benefit analysis and project management skills for initiatives to determine their financial viability and ongoing effectiveness

DUTIES AND TASKS:

1.   Partner with various functional leaders in preparing coast benefit analysis and business cases on various initiatives that significantly impact Health Net of the Northeast.

2. Support the Financial Planning & Analysis team and Corporate Business Planning in presentations to senior management, inquiries from auditors, regulators, and other internal/external parties regarding the initiatives and their progress from inception to completion.

3. Contribute to continual improvement and automation of analysis tools and infrastructure to reduce production time and increase value added analysis of underlying business issues.

4. Additional duties/projects as assigned that will enhance operational results through disciplined, focused and robust financial analysis.

REQUIREMENTS


Education /Experience Minimum Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business; Advanced degree preferred

Certification/License:

Professional accreditation a plus

Experience:

5+ years relevant experience. Financial analysis, budgeting and forecast

5+ Years-accounting experience preferred.

Health Care Industry (5+ years) - Risk contracting experience highly desired

Budget development experience desired

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Financial statement development and analysis - understanding of underlying financial and accounting processes required

Proven project management skills and strong organizational skills are essential for the position

Effective communication and organization skills required for this position which regularly communicates with all levels of management and external constituents

Proficient spreadsheet skills required
