POSITION PURPOSE
The purpose of the Financial Aid Officer is to assist and track Financial Aid for students from Enrollment until Graduation. This position is responsible for maintaining the stated Financial Aid Goals of Compliance, Customer Service, and Cash Flow.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.In-school Student Financial Aid
a.) Process, award and track financial aid funds for each academic year throughgraduation in accordance to federal, state and institutional requirements.
b.)Input all Financial Aid information into database system.
c.)Certify and input students and/or parent loans via EFT.
d.) Contact and implement problem solving solutions with disgruntled
students, and parents.
e.) Contacts the student by special requests or the directive list.
2.Awarding Aid
a.) Checks NSLDS for electronic financial aid transcripts.
b.)Federal Campus Based Aid Award Federal Supplementary Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) and Perkins Loans to future student based on written policy.
c.) Assist student in processing applicable gap financing as well as state Grants, scholarships, tuition assistance, and other funding resource..
3.Withdrawals/Refunds
a.)Process withdrawals as received in accordance to federal and
institutional policy.
4. Student Action Reports
a.) Change graduation dates, if any, track on subsequent academic year.
b.)Make adjustments to need analysis and revise TFD if a student wants to downgrade, upgrade, change programs or any other
changes that may affect financial aid eligibility.
5. Assist the financial aid advisors with any incoming future students
a.) Set up test date and provide Financial Aid packets to future students
b.) Packaging the student with any loans, and or grants that they are
eligible for.
c.) Offering our customer service skills to the future students who may need
any assistance.
6. Special projects and additional tasks.
a.) Works on special projects as assigned by supervisor.
b.) Attends additional meetings as assigned by supervisor.
c.) Meet deadlines for project, activities, and reports.
REQUIREMENTS
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
•Knowledge: Knowledge of Title IV regulations and applicable policies and procedures. Computers and data entry.
•Skill: Customer Service oriented.
•Education: High School Diploma or equivalency. College education preferred.
•Experience: Minimum of 1 Year Financial Aid Experience.
•Ability:

oAbility to judge that which requires consultation, and at what level, and that which can be decided without consultation.
oAbility to perform basic math, e.g., percents, addition, subtraction.
oStrong problem-solving abilities essential.

oAbility to communicate professionally, with clarity and brevity, required--both orally and in writing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
•Strength -Occasionally moves/transports, lifts up to 10 of pounds, installs, takes out, removes, and replaces, positions, places, and transfers.
