Finance Specialist

Classification: Full Time Compensation: $65,000 to $70,000 per year OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY: The Finance Specialist is responsible for forecasting, budgeting, and reporting and analysis of financial results for the Pacific Northwest Region. In addition the Finance Specialist will have responsibilities for the resource management function as it relates to reporting and analysis of utilization.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Client Accounting:
•Train new personnel on client accounting procedures.
•Respond to client accounting questions from consultants and serve as the liaison to the Field Service Center.
•Prepare and analyze summaries of engagement economics.
•Distribute working capital reports to management and review / provide input on reserves and collection efforts.•Lead quarterly revenue recognition analysis of projects.
•Assist management team with accounting related to use of independent contractors.
•Monitor time and expense in suspense and assist in clearing these items.
•Consolidate monthly reporting for regional leadership on project economics.
Forecasting:•Distribute quarterly forecast to engagement teams, consolidate forecast and analyze forecast.•Prepare and analyze chargeable hour forecasts for region.Business Plan:
•Work closely with Regional Managing Director to develop annual business plan and prepare quarterly reports to summarize results.Finance & Office Administration:
•Review accounts payable and vendor reports for accuracy.
•Review weekly and monthly reports to monitor office expenses (i.e. intercompany expenses, travel summary reports, etc.).
•Complete trend analysis of expenses.
•Review employees' time and expense reports for compliance with company's policies.•Assist Operations Manager with Incentive Compensation Plan reporting.•Monitor financial activities via Hyperion for the region.
Resource Management Reporting Responsibilities:
•Analyze weekly Availability Reports and present analysis to Leadership of Area.•Generate, Analyze and Report Findings of Chargeable Hour Variance Report to Management and Resource Manager.•Maintain the Area's Current Sold But Not Staffed Needs and provide summaries to Management and Resource Manager.•Generate reports out of PeopleSoft to produce bi-monthly Chargeability Forecasts. Present and review forecast with Resource Manager.•Produce any ad hoc report requests for Resource Management Team and Management.•Proactively determine new reporting needs/analysis to improve Resource Management Function.•Liaison with Recruiting Team to provide input and understanding of future hiring plans.•Consolidate national chargeability reports to assist in trends and other variance monitoring.•Forecast national chargeability with input from area resource management leaders and communicate results to management.Contractor Responsibilities:
•Monitor contractor usage and inform Recruiting Manager of new needs or changes in usage.
•Work with Resource Management Coordinator to fully bring a contractor onboard to Protiviti.
•Read performance reviews for contractors used at Protiviti. Determine next steps for each contractor.
