Finance Manager- RSOD

We are seeking a Finance Manager to lead and direct S&P's global allocation process as well as provide financial management, planning and support to the operating management of select S&P Ratings Services Other Divisional (RSOD) departments and projects. This role will be responsible for providing financial guidance and solutions to multi-faceted business opportunities and issues, increasing the transparency and efficiency of S&P's global allocation process, consolidated financial reporting of RSOD, and initiating and maintaining internal financial controls. The Finance Manager will serve as the key financial partner to senior operations managers in establishing and setting the strategic direction within their respective units.



ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate the preparation of budgeted global allocations along with the communication thereof to business units. Consolidated financial reporting of RSOD, which includes monitoring operating results for business trends and conditions that affect the achievement of established goals. Prepare and analyze the annual consolidated RSOD Medium Range Plan. Develop presentations for senior management. Conduct formal monthly, quarterly and full year estimates of expense for assigned RSOD departments. Provide select RSOD departments' management with accounting guidance, financial management and headcount reporting and financial information support. Provide financial management guidance on RSOD initiatives as directed. Prepare cash flow models, track project costs and prepare ad hoc / various analyses as needed to present the financial position of designated projects to senior management. Coordinate the merit/promotion and incentive/bonus process of assigned cost centers on an annual basis. Create and present value-added analysis to enable better business decision making.




REQUIREMENTS


A bachelor's degree in finance or accounting

CPA and/or MBA preferred

Progressive experience in a large company recommended

A solid finance background in a global, matrixed operational environment

Highly developed financial analytical skills

A detailed and comprehensive knowledge of accounting, budgeting, financial planning and forecasting

Ability to adapt and respond to changing conditions, as well as be proactive in anticipating the analytical needs of management

Excellent problem solving and decision making skills

Strong leadership and project management skills

Proven ability to effectively communicate and interact with senior management

Ability to work independently as well as with a team

Excellent communication (verbal and written) and computer skills

Knowledge of Oracle Financial Analyzer and Lawson General Ledger a plus
