The Finance Director, United Capital Management Group will manage financial analysis and accounting for multiple corporate projects from concept through execution and completion.
Additional Responsibilities:
Coordinates efforts across projects and operating segments.
Reports to senior finance leadership and is responsible for overall strategies, direction and vision of the Financial & Accounting group.
Attains sufficient knowledge of all projects to ensure accuracy and completeness of cost capture and value reporting.
Coordinates Program Finance Group staffing, including financial analysts and project accountants.
Communicates with Project Steering committees, operating segment finance and members of the Program Management Group.
Ascertains completeness, measurability and validity of costing and value realization elements and baselines.
Establishes and maintains internal control practices.
Manages 3 to 5 professional staff.
Establishes, evaluates and updates policies, guidelines, procedures and processes. Performs accurate and timely accounting and reporting of project costs and value realization.
Reviews and analyzes project CBAs and forecasts. Also responsible for variance reporting - Earned Value Analysis.
Presents financial progress of projects and reforecasts to Steering committees and operating segment finance.
Develops and expands knowledge of company programs and projects to analyze and make recommendations relative to program inter-dependencies and potential overlaps or gaps.
Establishes relationships with senior management of departments and segments to ensure lines of communication and information sharing are open.
Effectively communicates upward in the finance organization regarding the Program Finance and Analysis group initiatives, operations and strategies.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting and financial analysis experience or Bachelor's degree in finance and significant accounting experience.
Minimum of 10 years experience in areas described above.
MBA, CPA or additional specific experience preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency working with performance data and use of metrics to evaluate programs.
Ability to manage numerous projects across multiple segments simultaneously.
Professional knowledge of accounting principles, rules and regulations.
Proven leadership skills and ability to lead, motivate and organize teams.
Excellent planning, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated strategic business focus.
Superior knowledge of Excel.
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Word, Project and other desktop applications.
Strong business acumen and intelligence with the ability to think strategically and implement tactically.
Highly motivated and skilled at business execution, establishing aggressive goals and driving continuous improvement.
Ability to generate creative and innovative solutions to problems and business opportunities.
Initiative, good judgment and ability to make decisions in a timely manner.
Strong worth ethic; achievement-orientated and motivated beyond personal interests.
Ability to motivate and direct staff, provide performance feedback and deal with all aspects of leading a team by providing clear and accurate direction.
