Field Audit Supervisor - Medicare

Plan, staff, direct and control of the Field Office section activities and provide leadership for department and section activities, including personnel management decisions, which includes control of unit productivity, workflow and inventory levels. Ensure proper training on all unit related processes and systems. Review employees' work ensuring that standards of timeliness, accuracy and productivity are achieved.



Supervise the desk review and audits of providers' financial and statistical records. Supervise the preparation of detailed sets of workpapers and audit adjustment reports during the review, analysis and audit (including on-site audits), of providers' financial and statistical records, including the review of final audit results and adjustment recommendations, ensuring compliance with Government Auditing Standards and Medicare rules and regulations. Defend the reimbursement and audit decisions to Medicare management, providers and various CMS offices. REQUIREMENTS




Thorough knowledge of auditing techniques, audit practices and issues





Thorough knowledge and understanding of Government Auditing Standards and auditing theory



Thorough knowledge of Medicare rules and regulations and all phases of cost reports and reimbursement/settlement activities



Excellent and effective leadership and human relation skills with the ability to motivate others and work collaboratively with teams



Strong and effective supervisory skills



Strong and professional written and verbal communication skills



Proven analytical abilities and sound decision-making skills



Demonstrate independence



Thorough understanding of area computer systems



Ability to train new or junior audit staff on Medicare audit and reimbursement principles of cost reporting
