Federal Accounting/Audit Specialist

BearingPoint, Inc. (NYSE-BE) is one of the world's largest business consulting and systems integration firms dedicated to aligning business and systems to empower Global 2000 companies and government organizations.BearingPoint Public Services is currently searching for experienced Federal Accounting Professionals.Preference will be given to candidates local to our DC Metro offices.Individuals will be responsible for working with a large government client as a part of a BearingPoint team member working primarily out of a downtown DC client site location, with limited travel outside of the DC Metro area. Individual will work with BearingPoint and client team members to develop and implement solutions to client challenges.Key Skill: Federal Accounting, Auditing, Financial StatementsRequirements:

At least 2 years of experience

Advanced knowledge of internal auditing controls

Previous experience working in a Federal audit environment, such as a Federal contract with an auditing firm or for a Federal entity

Experience in developing procedures for conducting an audit; ideally individual will have experience in leading an audit team

Advanced knowledge and familiarity in performing the following accounting/auditing responsibilities: standard general ledgers, financial statements, accounts payable, revenue tracking, disbursements, and obligations

Leadership potential and experience working with small teams (2-4 people)

Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated client-facing experience. *Individual must be able to represent BearingPoint independently in front of the client

Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment and pick up new skill sets quickly

US Citizenship Required

Bachelors Degree Required, Advanced Degree a plus, but not required

CPA preferred, but not required.Additional Pluses:
US Secret Security Clearance a plus
Large Consulting Firm Experience
Demonstrated Business Process Improvement (BPI) Experience and Project Management Experience
