Experienced Audit Associate - Charlotte

Reznick Group, one of the nations fastest growing public accounting and business advisory services firms, is seeking Audit Associates for their Charlotte office. Reznick Group is ranked among the top 20 public accounting firms in the nation, maintains seven offices across the US, and has approximately 1,000 employees servicing clients nationwide and across multiple industries.Audit Associates are responsible for becoming familiar with accounting and auditing procedures and tax issues. As experience and proficiency is gained, associates are expected to undertake more difficult assignments and manage greater responsibility. The Audit Associate may report to and receive instruction from Senior Associates, Managers and/or Principals of the firm.The primary responsibilities of Associates are focused in the following 3 areas:

Audit & Accounting
Project/Task Management
Personal and Professional Development
Specific Duties
Audit & Accounting

Understand the purpose of accounting procedures based on level of service provided.
Perform accounting procedures and/or tax applications in accordance with firm standards and in an accurate, thorough and timely manner.
Understand clients' accounting systems.
Understand current accounting and tax theory. Apply this knowledge to the engagement.
Understand and apply concepts of materiality and audit risk.
Prepare workpapers that are informative, indexed, cross-referenced and can easily be understood and explained.
Project/Task Management

Accept responsibility for, and complete tasks assigned by Reznick Group management in a timely fashion.
Make effective use of firm resources to complete a project.
Manage multiple client projects at any given time.
Alert Reznick Group management in a timely fashion of any issues, constraints, challenges, and/or scheduling conflicts that may arise in completing the assigned task(s).
Personal and Professional Development

Earn confidence, trust and respect from clients and colleagues.
Continually develop technical skills and industry knowledge. Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, creativity and independent thinking.
Attend local professional and business organization functions, as well as networking events.
Represent the firm in positive and professional manner.
Demonstrate accounting proficiency by pursuing and passing the CPA exam.
Demonstrate sound business judgment.
Develop an ability to motivate and train self.
Actively participate in Reznick Group internal development programs, including staff training courses.
REQUIREMENTS
Travel Percentage: 10%Essential Experience (special skills and experience, licenses, certifications, and education)

Education: BS/BA accounting with a minimum of 150 credit hours
Eligible to sit for the CPA exam a must
Strong research and writing skills
Proven technical skills with MS Office to include Excel, Word, Outlook.
Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
