Entry-Level Staff Accountant

As a small, local certified public accounting and financial planning firm located in Olympia, Washington, the entry-level staff accountant has a degree in accounting and may already be a certified public accountant. If not already a CPA, the staff accountant is expected to pass the CPA exam within one to two years after being hired. They may have work experience in public or private accounting, but may have little experience in auditing or preparing tax returns. The staff accountant must be able to communicate clearly in writing, as well as orally, and possess basic computer skills (spreadsheet and word processing).

Tasks typically assigned range from summarizing books of original entry through drafting financial statements and/or tax returns which includes gathering and preparing appropriate schedules. Accuracy, dependability, ability to follow instructions, and timeliness are important qualities this person must demonstrate.

Considerable training on the job is provided, the firm will provide professional training and course work as deemed necessary.

Quickbooks experience a plus!
