Position overview
Our Client is currently seeking intelligent business development professionals with a successful track record in selling software to Large Enterprise Software Companies, Large ISVs and the Fortune 1000 within in the defined territory. The main goal of the Regional Sales Manager is to growing the territory by aggressively targeting new business.

Creative Fridays
Creative Fridays are a day each week set aside for doing things with greater freedom than is possible when other parts of the organization need to rely on your work. Basically, anything that: could conceivably end up on the company website as a freebie download. Could conceivably be shipped to a customer, e.g. as part of a product or as a solution component. Could lead to a project that would be accepted as a Creative Friday project (i.e. research) Involves preparing your Creative Fridays project proposal!

This may not be for you
We’re not looking for just anybody. This isn’t the easiest sales position available out there. We are looking for individuals who can show prior software sales success into Large Enterprise Software Companies, Large ISVs and the Fortune 1000 within in the defined territory. We are looking for the professional who lives to get in front of the client to close the sale. Although you will likely gather leads by customers requesting information via referrals, and conferences we are looking for the entrepreneur who will target their own networks as well. self starter is a must.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Aggressively target new business. Focus clientele includes Large Enterprise Software Companies, Large ISVs and the Fortune 1000 within in the defined territory (from Philadelphia, PA up to Boston MA)
Regional Sales Manager will meet - and strive to exceed - new revenue objectives on a monthly and annual basis.
Work effectively with little supervision
Develop and implement a strategic plan of action to accomplish sales goals.
Directly initiate and pursue business discussions with individual organizations and, if required, multi-site consortia.
Included in the process is the ability to independently present integrated technology to a live audience, create proposals and effectively negotiate sales closure
Provide account management from inception through to technical account ownership.
Daily communication to prospects and customers to identify, qualify and close opportunities for the product family.
Work directly with accounts in understanding their needs, requirements and implementation schedules in order to retain business.
Utilize marketing programs to identify prospects and leverage opportunities.
Prepare, manage and submit a regular sales forecast to management.
Training:
Comprehensive one month training on products in California
Minimum Requirements and Necessary Skills:
Candidate must be located within designated territory and able to work out of the Bedford, Massachusetts office.
5-8 years direct software sales to the Fortune 1000 required
Verifiable track record of success selling to C-level/VP professionals.
Must have a verifiable performance history of meeting and exceeding quota objectives
Must have a proven ability to target and close new business.
Must be self-motivated and self-managed.
Excellent software acumen
Cross-platform, C++, GUI and open source software proficiency is a plus
Excellent communications skills; able to articulate clearly and effectively.
Skilled in relationship management, customer focused and service mindedness
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual who enjoys working independently but who is also a dedicated team player; must be able to work successfully with others in a virtual team environment.
Must be able to spend one month in CA for the training
Education:
BS degree (or equivalent) required.
Higher education studies within computer sciences, economics or marketing related fields.
Compensation:
$85,000-100,000 base
$170,000-200,000 at plan/total targeted earnings
