DIRECTOR OF TAX

We are seeking a Director of Tax to audit financial records to determine tax liability, along with the following duties and responsibilities: Interface with senior and executive management, external tax consultants, and governmental agencies, as required.
Prepare tax related quarterly and annual financial statement calculations and related disclosures required under SFAS 109, including evaluation of the effective tax rate, maintenance of tax reserves, review of tax accounts, and evaluation of permanent and trimming differences, current and deferred taxes and valuation allowances against deferred tax assets.
Assists in the development/design and is responsible for the adherence to tax processes and procedures for income/franchise taxes and sales, use, amusement and alcohol taxes required under Sarbanes-Oxley.
Supervise preparation of and reviews monthly sales, use, amusement, alcohol and other returns by location.
Assist in the maintenance/update of the sales, use, amusement and alcohol taxable items and tax rates by location in the POS system.
Supervises preparation of and reviews federal and state income/franchise tax workpapers, returns and quarterly estimated tax calculations for accuracy.
Coordinate with outside tax consultants on all tax audits, including income/franchise and sales, use, amusement and alcohol, and supervises development and implementation of strategies to negotiate favorable audit results.
Research federal and state income/franchise and sales, use, amusement and alcohol rules and regulations, as required, and provide recommendations to executive management.
Prepare various other tax related reports and analyses as requested by executive management.Develop integrated strategies to minimize taxes while maintaining full compliance with all jurisdictions’ tax laws.
Work with the legal department in the preparation of financial information related to state licensing.
Analyze issues and/or notices to determine nature, scope, and direction of investigation and response required.
Coordinate the fixed assets of the Company.
Perform tax cost segregation studies on new stores.
REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.
4-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CPA certification required.
