Director of SOX Compliance

Our client is a well-respected, international corporation ready to undergo an IPO in the next 2-4 yrs. It is a newly created position with great visibility within the firm, developing all SOX internal controls processes and procedures. Establishing procedures for managing changes to procedural and internal controls documentation and resultant impact on SOX project.
Monitoring changes to processes by business units/process owners to ensure that SOX controls are not eliminated or negated.
Establishing and monitoring overall SOX compliance project plan and timeline for all business units, including documenting conclusions regarding SOX scoping, planning, exception reporting and other matters.
Compiling and monitoring status of design remediation efforts and testing remediation efforts by business units/process owners.
Coordinating and directing completion of process documentation of all business units.
Developing communication and training plans to train business units and process owners on required attestations, controls and overall SOX objectives and obligations.
Defining and establishing performance metrics for all accounting and finance activities.
Defining performance scorecards for all accounting and finance activities.
Analyzing and publishing results for management review.
Assuring the identification of corrective action and timely implementation.
Leading root cause analysis activities.
Conducting closing post mortem analyses.
Developing staff to meet the future needs of the organization.
Assisting teams with development and implementation of continuous improvement programs.
REQUIREMENTS
RequirementsStrong experience with Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 control programs, and internal control development.
Eight plus years public accounting and industry experience.
4 yr. Degree in Accounting, CPA preferred.
Prior experience with running accounting systems in an integrated IT environment.
Oracle and Hyperion exposure preferred.
Strong project management experience and communication skills.
Strong experience with implementing and sustaining continuous improvement programs.
Black belt or green Six Sigma certification preferred.
