Director of Regulatory Review
As the Director of Regulatory Review, you will be responsible for quality assurance and on-going internal review of University Group and University compliance with government, accreditation, corporate, University Group and University policies and regulations to ensure University Group and the Universities are in full compliance. Additionally, this position is responsible for training personnel (or seeing they receive training) in order to perform their job duties in full compliance with regulations and University Group policy; and, to implement preventive measures to ensure University Group and University operations are in compliance. This position will serve as an internal resource to review proposed changes to University Group and University operations and evaluate such changes from a compliance perspective. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Monitor daily operation of all departments/functions of UG and the Universities to ensure compliance with federal, state, accreditation, corporate, UG and University regulations and policies. • Review proposed process changes at UG and the Universities to ensure they are in compliance with federal, state, accreditation, corporate, UG and University regulatory requirements. Requires a contribution to the body of knowledge surrounding the process change(s). • Supervise the audit functions for all University Group schools which include the departments/functions of Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Academics, Career Services, Human Resources, Payroll, Marketing, Information Technology, and Administrative Functions. Supervise review on an ongoing basis samples of student files and departmental documentation to ensure necessary documentation is maintained and processing is performed in an accurate and timely manner. Report areas of concern to the Vice President of Compliance and assist applicable Regulatory Affairs Personnel in developing corrective action plans and identifying training requirements. • Work closely with Directors of Compliance and departments to ensure that corrections in areas of non-compliance are made timely and appropriately. • Perform a critical analysis of historic and current results of audits to identify trends. • Assist in developing and serve as either a primary or secondary review of all documents which are to be sent to governing bodies for compliance, accuracy and completeness to be reviewed by the Vice President of Compliance (CEC) and other Regulatory Affairs personnel. • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure continued compliance with federal, state and accreditation requirements at the institutional level for all marketing and advertising. Monitor marketing compliance review to ensure it is completed in the requisite period of time. • Assist in the development and review of collateral marketing/informational materials including the catalog, student handbook and regulatory documents as related to student enrollment. • Assist in the review of external communications sent by various departments including announcements to the student body. • Assist in the collection and development of regulatory documents as related to University archives. • Other tasks that may be assigned by the Vice President of Compliance (CEC), from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS
• Demonstrated ability to comprehend and supply multiple sets of regulations to an individual situation. • 7-12 years of progressive experience working in a regulated business/industry, preferably education related. • Knowledge of federal and state regulations and accreditation standards applicable to the education industry is preferred. • Prior auditing experience and management experience desired. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent project management, computer, conceptual and analytical skills. • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. The University Group is a division of Career Education Corporation.
