Thresholds seeks to fill the position of Director of Purchasing. The Director of Purchasing will direct agency-wide purchasing efforts, including the development of purchasing policies and procedures, the operations of purchasing programs (centrally and locally operated), and the negotiation of contracts.Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree is Business or related area.
- Experience as a purchasing director is required.
- Knowledge of purchasing concepts, theories, and practices.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity.
- Attention to detail.
- Automobile and valid Illinois Drivers license preferred.Requirements, Responsibilities and/or Duties Unique to the Position:- Establish policies and procedures related to the acquisition of all non-salaried expenses.
- Implement recommendations of multi-disciplinary teams designed to provide direction on products and services needed to facilitate purchasing consolidation and/or field assignment of purchasing programs.
- Analyze purchasing needs and negotiate purchasing contracts which leverage purchasing volume to achieve optimum balance of pricing, quality, and delivery.
- Manage the operation of the vehicle fleet, including lease negotiation, vehicle assignments, transfers and replacements, maintenance, and licensing issues.
- Responsible for insurance negotiation and purchase and the monitoring and management of insurance claims.
- Maintain appropriate documentation systems.
- Develop and implement electronic support systems in conjunction with Information Services.
- Maintain productive and professional relationships with vendors, staff, and related organizations.
- Perform other related duties as required.
