Director of Operations

The mission of the Food Bank For New York City is to end hunger by organizing food, information and support for community survival and dignity. The Food Bank For New York City, a member of America's Second Harvest, The Nation's Food Bank Network, was founded in 1983 to coordinate the procurement and distribution of food donations from manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and government agencies to organizations providing free food to the city's hungry. The Food Bank For New York City is looking for a Director of Food Operations to oversee the daily operations of its Bronx location warehouse. Duties include traffic scheduling, delivery and transportation, inventory management, loading dock activity, food storage, security, sanitation and working with supervisors, daily oversight of all warehouse personnel. REQUIREMENTS
This individual must possess strong leadership and supervisory skills and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills including MS Office are required. Warehouse management software is a plus. BA or BS degrees are preferred but education requirements can be substituted for extensive proven experience in managing a large food distribution center.
