Director of Finance and Accounting

The Job-
We're looking for a full time Director of Finance and Accounting. Relevant skills include CPA, Microsoft Office Suite and Acquisitions. The job is located in Dallas, TX. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree or better in Accounting or Finance.

This is a hands-on position in a young high growth company. We are looking for somebody who can perform the daily accounting activities, as well as manage the function as the company grows.

Responsibilities:
Under administrative direction, plan, organize, direct and coordinate accounting, budgeting, revenue, grant accounting/fixed assets, budgeting and business analysis and reporting functions.
Provide overall direction for company related financial activities.
In addition to the more traditional accounting and transaction-oriented activities, performs strategic analysis and financial projections.
Develop an overall financial plan for the company and provide high-level financial analysis (including sensitivity and risk assessment) consistent with our future vision and long-range plans.
Develop a comprehensive multi-year capital program budget, including well-defined asset replacement projections and ensures connection between service planning and annual budgeting.
Formulate policies, procedures and practices for the assigned functional and makes recommendations to the President.
Plan, organize, direct and coordinate the full range of activities related to general ledger, accounts payable, cash management, payroll, and accounts receivable.
Assure the timely payment of all invoices and claims, the tracking of the company’s liability on a daily basis and the forecasting of future payment amounts and due dates.
Oversee cash flow analysis and the company’s investment account.
Direct staff in the accounting and depositing company’s finances.
Assure the timely payment of staff.
Consult with other division managers, the business community and private organizations to explore new ideas and resolve issues; establish and maintain an effective system of communications throughout the organization; and performs related duties as assigned.
Responsible for establishing sound internal audit controls, oversight of automated and manual record keeping systems and data analysis that assures that the financial records are accurate.
The Director reports directly to the President and works to interpret the financial information and subsequently identify processes that best achieve the financial goals of the company.
Responsible for working interactively with managers to maintain accurate measures of costs, profits and to ensure that those measures are reflected throughout the financial reports.

Required Education:
CPA
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

Requirements:
May be required to travel and work beyond normal work hours.
Ten years of progressively responsible management experience in public sector of finance and accounting, preferably in the technology industry.
Knowledge of management principles, supervision and training are also required.
Must be able to gather, assemble, analyze and evaluate financial information and make strategic analyses and financial projections.
Must be able to interpret and apply laws, rules and regulations impacting finances.
The ability to analyze and resolve a variety of complex administrative issues, communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Experience with maintenance of comprehensive records and reports.
Patience and persuasiveness are needed when interacting with others.
Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Must have excellent verbal aptitude and public speaking ability.
Plan, organize direct, coordinate and supervise work and staff engaged in the assigned functional areas is required.
Acquisition experience a plus.
