Director of Cost Accounting

Challenging opportunity available immediately in south Florida for an experienced Cost Accounting Manager. Please submit word version of resume and salary expectations for immediate and confidential consideration.

Responsibilities include:
•Will be responsible for capitalizing department soft costs, allocating costs to appropriate projects and performing capitalized interest calculations.
•Preparation of various project summaries and monthly reporting.
•Act as primary liaison between field construction, operations and corporate finance.
•Assist in developing the Accounting Policy and Procedure Manual as it relates to cost accounting.
•Responsible for the enhancement and improvement (including implementation of improvements) for existing job costing process.
•Review development budgets and various contracts, ensure appropriate coding of vouchers, review and approve change orders, project re-costing, construction in progress analysis and job completion reporting.
•Approve Job Cost transfers and preparation of job cost analysis.
•Ensure appropriate approval of all construction related expenditures and timely removal of construction liens upon payment to vendors.
•Will be responsible for documenting policies, procedures and processes.
•Record corporate monthly, quarterly and year-end accruals.
•Assist with special projects as determined by the Controller and Chief Accounting Officer.
REQUIREMENTS
Min of 5 yrs supervisor experience required. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required. Other skills:
•Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
•Must be a team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
•Strong analytical ability with mathematical competency required.
•Ability to concentrate and multi-task in an ever-changing work environment.
