Director of Administration and Finance

The American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) is seeking a Director of Administration and Finance who will bring knowledge and leadership in fiscal and operational management to the Association. The successful candidate will serve on the senior management team, oversees the overall fiscal operation and administers all personnel functions. The Director supervises and evaluates the Association’s staff and oversees the day-to-day operations of the office.
REQUIREMENTS
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution and previous experience in managing an accounting function as well as a CPA or MBA is desirable. Progressive administrative experience in the areas of finance, procurement, Human Resources, payroll and grants management at a not-for-profit organization is required. Advanced applied knowledge of federal grants fiscal management and reporting requirements essential, including calculation of indirect costs and rates and federal grants compliance. Solomon and iMIS experience is a plus. Candidate must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; as well as be detail oriented, deadline sensitive, resourceful, and solution oriented.
