Director, Accounting

Oversee the accounting and financial reporting functions such that we provide fiscal leadership and timely and accurate financial information/analysis in order to help Travelport meet its profit objectives and to ensure financial reporting obligations.



Primary Responsibilities:

Provide strategic direction to business leaders within Travelport based on financial results, meaningful metrics and reporting

Oversee the monthly close process including financial statement preparation, intercompany accounting, balance sheet analyses, P&L analyses & accruals, and transactional data analysis

Serve as key accounting representative and technical expert for all accounting system implementation projects, directing the successful completion of all enhancements and required upgrades.

Timely and accurate review of monthly management accounts, including adjustments and accruals.

Support future acquisitions through accounting reviews, integration of accounting functions, and purchase accounting.

Work with Tax, Finance, Corporate Accounting and Treasury to complete any future acquisitions

Enhance the department's skills through the selection, training, and development of personnel.

Challenge current processes to promote continuous improvement and efficiency. REQUIREMENTS


Accounting degree required; CPA required

10+ years of accounting experience including GAAP, G/L maintenance, accounting operations including foreign currency issues and revenue management

Must be experienced in working closely with operations in dynamic growth industry to become strategic partner and understand how financials drive the business.

Experience in leading a staff of accounting professionals at various levels in various facets of accounting

Windows environment including WORD and EXCEL; Experience with Hyperion Enterprise, Oracle, GEAC or other comparable accounting/finance required

Strong leadership skills and ability to work well with all levels of professionals

Ability to work with others and communicate to many departments at all levels of management

Ability to grasp technical accounting concepts and provide improvements in processes

Deadline conscious with strong drive and initiative and ability to work well in time-sensitive situations
