Decision Support System Architect
The Homeland Security Solutions Division currently has an opening for a Decision Support System Architect.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Scope: The successful candidate will be a member of a team chartered with the development and deployment of leading edge data warehousing solutions supporting business intelligence applications using structured and unstructured data. The systems involve large numbers of information sources that will be integrated and used for analysis in a service oriented architectural framework.
The candidate will be responsible for the documentation and positioning of hardware components, operating system components, application components, middleware, and the layering of software on various operating systems platforms. Primary job responsibilities will include: Documentation of conceptual architecture and implementation designs to support the development of relational, dimensional and OLAP data models. Documentation of the design of ETL processes and procedures, data flow from source to end user, including, metadata management, data profiling, and business intelligence applications. The candidate will participate in project work groups with Subject Matter Experts and stakeholders to understand data specific needs, and contribute to the documentation of technical specifications; attend data quality and data standardization sessions; work closely with the security SME to develop and document data security functions within the database. He/she will work with system developers to document data requirements; be responsible for and a contributor to the documentation of artifacts including technical requirements documents, and design documents.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Computer Science, engineering, or related technical discipline.
Required Skills: 3-5 years of experience in systems design and development. Working knowledge of Oracle DB, XML web technologies, and web development environments. Understanding of enterprise-level architecture concepts. Must have excellent technical oral/written communications skills; conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills; high initiative, sense of urgency, teamwork, and customer service, and the ability to multi task.
DESIRED SKILLS: Hands-on experience with Oracle DB, SQL and Business Intelligence tools a plus.
