Director of Accounting and Finance

Great opportunity in a growing community hospital to join an established team of directors!

The Accounting director manages a department which is an information system for measuring, processing, and communicating economic information that is used in making economic decisions. The Accounting department follows the rules set for by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) through Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Accounting department is responsible for producing accurate and timely financial statement and communicating the statements to management, governing bodies and regulatory agencies, processing employee payroll, processing accounts payable, posting cash payment to A/R, processing capital assets and insuring that good internal control procedures are followed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Prepares and analyzes monthly and annual corporate and departmental financial statements.

2) Prepares and analyzes operations and productivity reports.

3) Reports corporate economic data to management and regulatory agencies such as QHR, CHA, Medicare, Medicaid, AHA.

4) Manages corporate operations for payroll, accounts payable, capital assets, investments, cash posting and cash deposits.

5) Coordinates annual financial and Medicare audits.

6) Coordinates the preparation of the annual Medicare Cost Report.

7) Monitors internal control procedures.

8) Monitors and maintains the corporate General Ledger.

9) Review W-2’s, 1099’s and all Federal & State tax reports.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Covers for and assist the CFO.

2) Participates on various company committees.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or Experience: Bachelors of Accounting degree along with 5 years experience in healthcare accounting.
