DATA QUALITY ANALYST I

Summary of Responsibilities
The Data Quality Analyst I assists in the management of the data integrity of Commercial Operations data and data flow between Commercial Operations systems. This includes assisting with the configuration, implementation, and testing of the systems and modifications. The Data Quality Analyst I assists in the development of business processes and procedures to support data management of Commercial Operations data. In addition, the Data Quality Analyst I provides support to the analyses of various types of data in support of ERCOT Commercial Operations.

Essential Job Functions

Functional Responsibilities
*Participates in the daily management, maintenance, and necessary corrections of account level data in support of the settlement process.
*Supports the management of the data flow between Commercial Operations systems to ensure that accurate and timely data is available for the market settlement process.
*Performs data corrections in coordination with internal and external individuals as appropriate for ERCOT systems and market synchronization.
*Identifies systemic issues relating to data flow between Commercial Operations systems and usage data loading.
*Provides suggestions to correct data flow issues between systems as necessary.
*Assists in the development, operations, and enhancements of the systems to ensure that accurate and timely data is provided for the market settlement process.
*Assists in developing workflow and business processes to meet the goals of the Market Operations business unit of ERCOT.
*Assists in providing documentation in support of data aggregation-related hearings with the ERCOT Governing Board and PUCT.
*Assists in addressing ERCOT Market Participant questions regarding ESIID existence/characteristic and usage transaction processing and reporting.
*Develops and maintains knowledge in ERCOT procedures and business rules related to Load Profiling, Metering, Customer Registration, Settlements and Billing.
*Develops and maintains working knowledge of ERCOT operations needed to support Clients' business needs.
*Supports projects, as necessary, to implement ERCOT's Commercial Operations systems including future enhancements.

*Develops and maintains knowledge of complex database structures.
*Develops and maintains database querying skills using SQL and PERL.
*Develops and maintains a good level of computer skills in Access, Word, Excel, and Windows.
*Develops and maintains knowledge in retail market design, systems, and concepts.
*Clearly communicates complex technical concepts both in a written and oral manner.
REQUIREMENTS
*Bachelors’ degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field or an equivalent combination of education and training.
*Must have one or more years of related experience in a data management function.
*Proficiency in multi-organizational interfacing and leadership in addition to policy compliance monitoring, and enforcement.
