Corinthian Colleges, Inc., a publicly traded corporation (NASDAQ: COCO) has an immediate opening for a highly motivated, results-oriented Credit Coordinator for our Campus Support Center located in Santa Ana, CA.

Summary:Under general supervision, this position is responsible for making credit decisions based on set criteria while remaining in compliance with Federal/State regulations and Company policies and procedures. This position is responsible for making credit decisions within company defined timelines. This position serves as a liaison between students, Campus Staff, Campus Support Center and third party agencies/servicers.

General Duties:
Make underwriting decisions while ensuring compliance with company objectives and state and federal regulations.
Ensure workflows are being followed in order to meet company underwriting goals
Ensure timely follow up of underwriting requests.
Review accounts for credit worthiness and underwriting risks levels to make informed decisions.
Build and foster strong working relationships between with the campuses and loan originators.
Perform research in response to inquiries and concerns regarding underwriting decisions. Maintain pipeline and activity reports through the entire underwriting process
Prepare and/or coordinate reports measuring underwriting decisions on student loan and internal note portfolios. Perform self audits of all loans approved through underwriting.
Work closely with loan originators in preparation of loan approval documents.
Work closely with loan originators in reviewing, structuring, and quoting loan submission requests, including issuance of application.
Adhere to corporate financial policies and procedures
Ensure active communication and cohesive working relationships with all departments
Attend all applicable training workshops to remain current on company policies and procedures. Attend all applicable training workshops to remain current on company policies and procedures. Ensure that assigned personnel attend all business related trainings.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and levels of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.

REQUIREMENTS



Requires some college coursework, or the equivalent combination of education and experience, and a minimum three years experience in an underwriting role. Must demonstrate strong understanding and application of Fair Lending Laws as it relates to student loans. Must be highly motivated and be a team player. Must have the ability to effectively organize and establish priorities. Must have the ability to analyze and interpret financial data/reports in order to make recommendations regarding credit risk.
Must be able to understand and interpret all major credit bureau reporting.
Must have excellent communication, negotiation and problem solving skills. Computer skills are a must.We offer competitive compensation and an excellent benefit package including a comprehensive healthcare program and a 401k plan.
