Cost Accountant - Plant Operations

Plant Cost Accountant

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Plant Cost Accountant will coordinate all accounting and financial reporting activities at the plant level. This position will work with the Director of Finance, Division Controller and other Plant Accountants. The ideal candidate will be able to operate effectively and comfortably in the financial environment.
REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities:

*Areas of finance/accounting related reporting-analysis, budgeting, physical inventory, and development and maintenance of frozen and current standard cost.
*Identifies and makes recommendations for improvements to plant operations to the Plant Manager.
*Work standards for machine and operator controlled presses.
*Submits ECN to corporate.
*Works with cycle count program and makes appropriate adjustments.
*Establish root cause for adjustments and provide corrective action plan to permanently eliminate the problem.
*Special projects as required by the Plant Manager and/or Director of Finance.
*Complete set-up of part numbers in AS400 system. This includes reviewing and either approving or requesting customer service SKU's via our Internet application.
*Performing other duties as may be assigned.

Requirements:

*College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
*Financial Reporting/General Accounting.
*Financial reporting-analysis, budgeting, physical inventory, standard costs, work standards, ECN, inventory adjustments, machine efficiencies, machine utilizations, cost estimates, Routing/Bill of Materials Maintenance, experience with AS400 and ERP system implementation.
*Good Communications and problem solving skills.
*Strong PC and Microsoft Excel skills.
*3-5 years experience in accounting preferably in a manufacturing environment.
