The Cost Accountant II is responsible for analyzing and reconciling inventory activities for all domestic retail locations as well as the Distribution Centers. You will provide support and guidance on inventory matters to resolve issues and problems. You will also prepare and analyze various inventory reconciliations and account analyses including stockbook to MIPS descrepency analyses as well as out-of-balance reconciliations between department/branch records. Other responsiblities include day-to-day Fragrance accounting.


In this role you will support monthly and year-end closings, financial analyses including Obsolesence, average cost anaylsis, Cost of Sales reconciliation, care & handling , and MIPS/Stockbook variance analysis. You will also provide support to all retail locations and cost centers. Other responsibilities are completing fragrance accounting activity including coding of A/P vouchers, physical reconciliations, and communications with NY Fragrance and Chanel. In addition, you will Review and enter BOM's and establish new standard costs as well as annual revaluation. Reconciliation of physical inventories is also a key accountability.

REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for this position, you will need a BA/BS in Accounting and 2+ years of Accounting experience; MBA preferred. The successful candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills and a strong attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team setting and a self-starter attitude is preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of JD Edwards financial software and Business Objects report writing a plus.
