Corporate Planning Analyst
BASIC FUNCTION:Assist Corporate Planning Managers by providing analysis related to corporate strategic decisions, recommending options for specific financial transactions, and preparing financial analysis on the Company and competitors’ performance.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1. Prepare the 5 year financial forecast and maintain/optimize modeling tools to prepare different sensitivity cases, in order to determine possible financial outcomes.
2. Analyze a variety of business opportunities (investments, assets divestitures/purchases, Merger and acquisition opportunities), using financial valuation methods, in order to rank options and make specific recommendations to Director of Corporate Planning
3. Prepare concise analysis of the financial performances of a given Region and/or Business Unit. Evaluate competitors financial and market position, review and compare stock performances.
4. Determine appropriate capital structure for the Company and, in conjunction with Treasury, accurately monitor and forecast Cash / Debt levels, bank and credit rating agency ratios.
5. Review and contribute to the ongoing strategic planning process – analyze the potential impact of changes in the corporate structure and organization (new process, tool, geographical / business re organization).
6. Assist and participate in any discussions or meetings involving the elaboration of corporate strategy and business opportunities. Remain alert to any potential opportunities that would be beneficial to the Company.
7. Benefit from a strategic position within Corporate Planning to gain expertise in the company’s operations and finance related matters. Interact frequently with other Departments and Senior Management, in order to assimilate and develop a strong corporate culture and network.
8. Gain exposure in drilling operations through training, field projects and rig visits in order to develop a comprehensive technical background for a future field operational assignment.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
The candidate will have an undergraduate degree focused on the Business or Finance fields.
• Business School Graduation (BBA), or
• BA (Finance)
EXPERIENCE:
Candidate will be a recent graduate with up to 2 years experience in a financial analysis role
• Corporate Planning aims to recruit high potential individuals and to offer them a privileged career development phase and a stepping stone for a future leadership role with the Company.
SKILLS:
• Strong analytical skills - including modeling and logical analysis (Finance & valuations knowledge required)
• Excel and PowerPoint expert (VBA skills a plus)
• Excellent oral and written communications skills - comfortable making presentations to Senior Management
• Self-starter, proven initiative taker with demonstrable leadership skills
• Self-confident, mature, and reliable individual
• Ability to work individually and in a group environment and to develop strong interpersonal relationships
• Ability to critically identify and gather required information, assimilate different perspectives and approaches, and share synthesized information with others
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Willingness to travel overseas and gain exposure to an international working environment
• Knowledge of a second language is not mandatory but is preferred
• Strong teamwork approach is required
